Foam Insulated LLC's Dealer Program

If you are a metal building dealer or sales representative we can help you put some extra money in your pocket but more importantly add significant value to your customers metal building project.  Foam Insulated has worked with chemical engineers to design and test a closed cell foam that out performs other foams and we have the paperwork to prove it.  The best part for your customer is since we use certified foam and contractors, the metal manufacturers will still honor their warranty on the building.  We also have a pricing and customer management app to make the order process easy and efficient.  Just like your metal building program, once the building is entered into our system, we take care of scheduling and collection of the project making sure you focus on helping other customers design their next build.

Metal Building Insulation

Comparison

A side by side comparison of the 3 major types of materials used to control the interior comfort levels of a metal building.

Double Bubble

Fiberglass

Closed Cell Spray Foam

Pros

  • Reflective insulation consisting of a metalized film, an inner substance like foam or bubble wrap, and a vinyl backing
  •  light weight and thin, it can be installed between the purlins and the sheet metal
  • reflects the heat back into the environment so it is effective at controlling condensation
Cons
  • it is a thin material that has little  R-value
  • considered vapor barrier only and not true insulation
  • not air tight so dust and bugs and other airborne contaminants can enter
  • it does not stop heat transfer and only reflects heat it is only best suited for hot climates

Pros

  • fiber glass insulation is a medium dense material that helps to slow heat transfer
  •  does  not shrink or burn
  • relatively inexpensive option to control indoor temperature
Cons
  • because of the density most thicknesses cant be installed between the hat channels and the sheet metal
  • less thick options mean lower R-value without significant modifications to the metal building design
  • not a vapor barrier so water and condensation can collect causing potential mold problems
  • inhaled slivers of fiberglass can enter the lungs and cause health problems

Pros

  • Creates a highly energy efficient thermal envelope
  • Industry leading thermal resistance of R-7 per inch sprayed
  •  100% moisture impermeable so it wont absorb moisture
  • Becomes a vapor barrier at 1″ so its effective at controlling condensation
  • sprays on as a liquid so it fills all gaps and makes the building air tight keeping airborne contaminants out
  • Adds structural strength to the metal building
Cons
  • more expensive than reflective
  • professional installation is required, not a DIY project
